A short visit before the real work

Table & Town helps adults turn a broad concern into one respectful question, one bounded action, or one better-prepared community event.

What it is

Original community-learning content

Table & Town is an offline Android field guide published for UTAH EMPOWERMENT INITIATIVE. Its 35 illustrated modules are organized into five lanes—See, Care, Mobilize, Host, and Reflect—and each module pairs practical steps with a dignity reminder and a boundary to verify.

The product is designed for adults who are learning, volunteering, preparing a respectful civic conversation, supporting food-access work, or planning a modest community gathering. It measures success through better preparation and real-world participation, not time spent in the app.

Product boundaries

Clear about what the app cannot do

Specific limits prevent an educational tool from being mistaken for an official intake, service, or promise.

NO INTAKE

No benefits or school account

The app does not determine eligibility, display lunch balances, accept applications, collect attendance, or manage a case.

NO PAYMENT

No donation processing

There is no payment flow, fundraising checkout, bank connection, credit-card field, receipt, or financial account.

NO PROMISE

No guaranteed service

A module does not guarantee food, transport, funding, a school partnership, event approval, safety, or a current local resource.

NO PROFESSIONAL ADVICE

Education, not a professional decision

Content does not replace medical, allergen, nutrition, legal, financial, benefits, accessibility, food-handler, or emergency guidance.

NO SOCIAL FEED

No public participation layer

The app has no chat, comments, followers, public profile, campaign feed, upload, photo sharing, score, ranking, or streak.

NO LIVE DIRECTORY

Sources require fresh verification

URLs explain context. They do not promise that a listed program, rule, event, contact, or service is current or available.

Evidence boundary

Organization context stays separate from original modules

Public reporting reviewed for this release described Utah Empowerment Initiative in connection with food insecurity, student lunch debt, a 2024 benefit concert, and civic conversations. Those reports provide limited background—not proof that every idea inside Table & Town is an active program or current commitment of the organization.

The app therefore avoids current event dates, eligibility claims, financial-impact claims, named school partnerships, direct-aid promises, and guaranteed outcomes.

Release principle

Say exactly what is known

Verified background, original educational content, and unknown or changing local details are treated as three different things. Readers are prompted to confirm the responsible contact, date, authority, and local rule before acting.

Private by design

Built to collect less

The installed app requests no Internet permission and includes no account, ads, analytics, tracking, forms, or third-party cloud SDK.

  • Only explored module IDs, up to five Local Lift IDs, the Action Deck position, and generic checklist flags are stored.
  • Those values stay in Android private preferences; backup and device transfer are disabled.
  • The Privacy Center offers an erase action, and Android Clear storage or uninstall provides additional local deletion paths.
  • No names, stories, messages, photos, precise location, dietary details, school records, household circumstances, or payment data are requested.
